I saw a woman named Pocahontas in an obituary yesterday. I can't say I have ever seen anyone else named that in this day and age. Has anyone else heard it being used?

I've never seen a real life Pocahontas, but that is amazing. Now I just need to see a real life Scheherazade and my life will be complete. was she an elderly woman?

I know a Scheherazade (well, it's Šeherezada here) and I've heard of a few more. So, you just have to visit Croatia:-)

A hugely popular Turkish soap had the main character named Şahrazad and I bet there will be baby Šeherezadas born here because of it (same thing when a Mexican soap Esmeralda was popular).

She was only 68. Her still living sisters are Johnnie, Leona, Ramona, Renee, Rita, and Georgia. Her daughter's name is Daphne.

I've never heard it on a real person either, but I do love the name. Not for a kid (I'm not *that* insane) but maybe a pet or a character. Pocahontas is nice =]

I am pretty sure some celeb will pick it at some point, but no I have not heard it except for in movies and history classes.
