[Opinions] Petra.
I've been liking Petra a lot today. I love Peter, so I suppose it was only a matter of time before I fell for Petra as well.Curious as to your opinions and combinations. I've come up with several pairings that I like, but I'm not over the moon about any of them. So far-- Petra Victoria, Petra Winter, Petra Eleanor, and Petra Rosalie.

I quite like Petra. It sounds very german to me, because the only Petra I know is german.I don't really like any of the combos you've suggested; they're all nice names but they don't go together perfectly.Petra Leilani
Petra Jessamine
Petra Lucille
Petra Lillian

Wouldn't it help to move away from names that end in -a or something close to it, or that start with a R? And also to vary the rhythm?Petra Cathleen
Petra Louise
Petra Margaret
Petra Felicity
Petra Sally
Petra Gillian

I like Petra. I think it sounds very hard and regal (probably because of the 'stone' association- I know 'petro' wasn't the real root word of Petra, but I used to think it was and that association still holds in my brain) , so I tend to like it with more serious-sounding mns (or at least mns that are easy to take seriously if needed). Of yours I like Petra Victoria, and I love Petra Eleanor. I also like:
Petra Angharad
Petra Louisa
Petra Dawn
Petra Octavia
Petra Athena
Petra Athene
Petra Olympia
Petra Olympe
Petra Gwendolen
Petra Gwynedd
Petra Annora
Petra Deirdre
Petra Morana
Petra Morgan
Petra Adhara
Petra Honor
Petra Honora
Petra Andromeda
Petra Morgana
Petra Artemisia
Petra Hecate
Petra Olivia

I surprised I'm liking Petra Rhiannon so much! I would've never put those two together, because they seem so separate, however they sound lovely. :)
Other favorites:
Petra Louisa
Petra Annora
Petra WillowI also like Petra and Saskia together, but I prefer them as a sibset. Petra, Saskia, and Aušra are all sisters in my mind.

Peter is my all-time favorite boy's name. So Petra starts out with an advantage with me. But even for its own sake I love the simple elegance of it. It's known, but not overly used. It's one of those buried treasures waiting to be rediscovered. Love, love, love it.All of your combinations are great. My favorite is Petra Eleanor. My two stock combos for it are Petra Vivien and Petra Linden.

Peter is just so lovely, isn't he? I do wish he were a bit less common though. :)

Petra has really grown on me these days. It's classy and quirky.Petra Eleanor and Petra Winter are beautiful. How about Petra Simone or Petra Vivian / Vivien / Vivienne?

I love Petra. It seems very easy to "travel" with- it is easy enough to use in much of the Western world. It has such a smoky, mysteriously understated sound. I'd definitely consider using it if I ever have a change of heart and decide to have children someday. Petra Iris
Petra Lorelei
Petra Genevieve
Petra Celeste
Petra Maureen
Petra Vivien (Vivien Petra?)
Petra Joan
Petra Margaret
Petra Lucille
Petra Violet

I was thinking of Violet earlier. My Father's initials are P.V. as well and I thought that would be a nice way to honor. :)I also like Petra Lucille!

It's not a bad name, but I find it a bit frumpy (probably because of personal experiences). I do like the history behind it though. Petra Rosalie pretties it up a little. Petra Victoria is 'a' heavy but it works

I could never warm to Petra. I don't know, it sounds cold and slightly bitchy to me. Not sure why.
