What do you think of this name as an alternative to Amanda?

I reminds me of almondine, which is somehow food-related.What about Amadea, Amada, Amadi, somethine like that?

It's a little too out there for me. Amanda is very dull imo, but Amandine is way on the other end of the spectrum. :b Amelia or Amalia might be a better 'alternative,' I think. Amandine just makes me think of almonds, lol.ETA: ...or a man named Dean. (Or if using the -ine ending, a man to dine with. :b)

Reminds me of dishes like sole amandine and the almonds they contain. If not for that, I'd like it fine. I'm not sure I'd consider it a substitute for Amanda, though; it sounds totally different to me.- chazda
