I adore Catherine (like Katherine too), but Cathy still feels too dated for me. Some dated names I still like, but that one is too ho-hum or something. Maybe too many middle-aged C/Kathies that I know. I prefer Cate or Kitty. Or there's Cat, which I used to love, but seems too... catty to me now. Ha.
Oh geez, I know a million Catherines and variants. I could never count them all. If I just look at my FB friend ones, there's:
Catherine
Catherine "Cat"
Kathryn
Katherine "Kathy"
Katherine "Katie"
...seems like I have more then that. Maybe I'm trying to include the just Kate/Katies, Kathleens, and Caitlin and variants too.
