[Opinions] Katara
Inspired by the Katana post...
I wasn't really a fan of the show Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I always loved the sound of Katara's name. I think it sounds pretty.
What do you think of Katara? Is it usable in real life?

I think Katana sounds more attractive than Katara. (I must've missed to original post, but Katana is a GP of mine). It might have to do with the familiar "-ana" suffix, which can help normalize unusual names. Katara is snappier and somewhat harsh, while Katana is more euphonic.
I don't feel strongly about Katara either way; it's okay, I guess, but not something I'm attracted to. As for usability, I think it might be too connected to the show at the moment. I've never seen The Last Airbender series but I knew where the name was from when I sae it. Do you know if it has actual origins? An entry in the submitted names database claims it's Japanese for water, but the same entry also says she's a Roman goddess, which is wrong.

I think it's pretty. I don't know if it's useable, since it comes from a film, but it could be. Possibly in later years, when the film isn't so fresh in people's minds.
