[Opinions] Loretta
I put this on my top list today, it's so lovely. Too 50s? Will it get common now Sarah Jessica Parker used it?I think Loretta is gorgeous. Do you know any? Do you prefer Lauretta? And what is your favorite Lor/Laur name? And how many do you know with each name? What do you think of:Laura, Lora
Lauren
Laurie, Lori
Lauretta, Loretta
Laurine
Laure
Laurelle
Laurel
Laurella
etcDo you pronounce Loretta, Lauretta and Lora, Laura etc the same? How many do you know with each name? Is Loretta boring because Laura and Lauren and even Lori were so common or does it have a different feel?

I doubt that Loretta will become popular in the US. My mother is named Loretta. I like the name but I'm not in love with it. I prefer Lobelia or Marietta. I do pronounce those names the same.

Had a babysitter named Loretta when I was in mid-elementary school, but haven't known a lot of others. (her fam was 8 kids plus parents all w/ L names) It's a nice enough name. I don't really know anything about Sarah Jessica Parker, so I've no idea to what degree that will or won't influence its popularity or lack thereof...
Don't know that it's ever been used enough to stick in a specific generation since I've only ever known 1 (and heard of another... was there a singer named Loretta Lynn?), but that could depend where you live. I grew up in Canada and it was never common there, I don't think... maybe elsewhere...
Loretta does have a slightly dif. feel from the others without being way out there.
I pronounce the dif. spellings the same... Prefer Loretta and Lori to Lauretta and Laurie (the latter 2 look kinda clunky), but prefer Laura to Lora (Laura feels more natural and standard for some reason).
Of your list, I like Loretta and Laurelle the best... Laurel's nice if prn'd like Laurelle... Sounds classier than the standard prn. of Laurel. (ie. like Laurel and Hardy) Lori's kinda nice. The others are all ok, but don't excite me much.

I think Loretta is cute. I don't mind its retro charm.I have always loved Laurel. One of the most elegant combos is Laurel Amelia.I am not too into the rest, but I like the Russian Lara.
