[Opinions] Francesca
Francesca has been growing on me alot lately, which is strange because I hate Frances on a girl, but anyway i'm liking the nickname Cheska for it, though not certain on spelling. So What do you think?

Well, it's my name. It's very common in Italy but I know that abroad it sounds "posh".I'm not terribly keen on Cheska, especially with this spelling. I go by Fran and France as nns, because it's what people spontaneously call me.

Same with me: I love Francesca but hate Frances. Maybe because it's just prettier and more interesting to say.The one thing I don;t like about it is that every time I hear some one say it fast I think they're saying my name.

Francesca is nice, but Cheska / Chesca looks wrong to me and Cesca would be problematic in English. I can't stand Frankie, so I'd go with Franca as nn.

I love Francesca but hate Frances. If I used that nn I'd probably spell it Cesca, because that's how it is in the name. Or maybe Chesca if I got tired of being called SESS-ka.

Funnily enough, I love Frances and I like Jescha. But "blend" them to Francesca and I don't care for it anymore.
(Then again, I might pronounce Jescha completely wrong ;-) )

I think Francesca is very pretty and has a different feel than Frances... Haven't encountered the nn Cheska before... not really sure what to think of that one... I quite like the nn Frankie... which is funny because I'm usually more of a full names person and there are few i/ie/y nns that I particularly like. For this one, I like both.
Francesca has more of a regal sound than Frances does.

I also like Francesca but dislike Frances. I suppose the reason it that, although spelled similarly, they're not pronounced the same (fran-CHES-ka with a short A / fraan-SIS with a long A). I think Cheska is a cute nickname, and definitely nicer than Fran or Franny. I The spelling on nicknames doesnn't really matter, since you don't have to write nicknames down that often but Chesca or Cesca makes sense...

Hubby and I love it too. I also love the nns Chess and Chessie even Cesca.

I've always liked Francesca and Cesca as a nickname, though Frankie is cute too.

I like it. I have a student named Francesca this year. I don't know if she has a nn because I teach Spanish and they pick Spanish names for class. She chose Francisca for class.
