[Opinions] Vanamo
So, Vanamo has been in my top ten for quite some time; I think it's sweet and melodious, but also strong and substantial. However, it's one of the lower-ranked names on my PNL, so I've been wondering how usable it would be in an English-speaking country -- or anywhere outside of Finland. The Finnish pronunciation of "o" is a bit different than in English, but I'd be fine if the last syllable was pronounced in a way that would be more natural for English speakers. (I don't think it's a drastic difference).

I adore Vanamo. It's one of the names I considered when I was changing mine. I'll definitely vote it up! I think you would have problems with the -o, but it wouldn't keep me from using it.
It's okay, but it reminds of of geronimo and therefore sounds a little silly. Maybe that's a weird association, but that's the first thing I thought of.
I'm in Finland and have never come across it except on this board. It's not one of the nicer Finnish names in my opinion. I try imagine it being said with a finnish accent and it comes across as very flat to me with all the As.
It's meaning is nice, but it just isn't a winner for me.

It reminds me a little too much of "vámonos," but I do live in an area with a lot of Spanish speakers. Just looking at Vanamo, I wouldn't have guessed that it's Finnish or a female name.
I think it's much prettier pronounced the Finnish way than with the typical Engish O, but if it doesn't bother you, then I think the rest of the name is straightforward enough to be usable.
