I'm pretty sure it comes from spain but I'm not 100% sure so I just put hispanic. Has anybody got any clue?

The name is Spanish. It comes from the placename Cabanzo in Cantabria.

Thanks mark, eventually because of your answer I found even the coat of arms of Cabanzo. I'm still curious wether the word has any meaning by itself or not, but I'm satisfied =)
