TObias... I have fallen for the name these past few days. IDK, it's in Sweeney Todd (Love Sweeney Todd) and also in HP. WDYT???

I might be the only person in the world who doesn't like it. It's just too old-mannish for me, and the word "bias" sticks out. But I wouldn't consider it a bad name.

My very very very first name love!

I named my Bear Tobias Maxwell when I was five. No idea where I got it from, I had never met a Tobias.. I adore it. :)

I like Tobias. It seems simultaneously stalwart and refined. It's a handsome name. I don't care for Toby, though.

It's my cat's name

I got him when I was 10 and named him after the character in Animorphs.

I like it, I guess. It's always made me think of monks.

Two thumbs up. I love it. Nice story behind it. Cute nn option, if you want it, but avoidable if you don't. Ages well. Unusual. Nice sound. So all around a good choice IMO.

I like it, but I think I like Tobin more.
It might have something to do with the mean-spirited Tobias who was in my first grade class...

I love Tobias. My partner's best friend often had a roleplaying character named Tobias. I got very use to the name and really started to like it in high school. These days I like it even more since I think Toby is a great nn for Tobias when he's younger and then when he's older he can go by Tobias if he wants to have a more mature sounding name. I like how it's a fairly known name but also how unusual it is. I also love boys names that end in ias, ius, is, as and us.

I hope it's a better reference from Sweeney Todd than it is from HP!

I like Tobias. I'm not crazy about the possiblity of Toby or the "by" sound in the middle, so it never climbs very high up my list, but I still think it's a great name.

I like Tobias, cuz I like Harry Potter, and its a somewhat obscure reference as opposed to Severus or Lucius, even though the character is horrid. And have u ever seen Sweeney Todd (2007)?

No, I haven't seen it. It's the one with the barber and people baked into meat pies, right? If there's even a whiff of cannibalism about something, I pretty much can't bear to watch it. It's one thing I'm really squeamish about.

So is Tobias a good guy in Sweeney Todd or a bad guy?

Tobias is... complicated. He's an assistant to MR.Todd, Unaware of his business. But, Mr. Todd ends up killing Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter) who has acted like a surrogate mother to Tobias. So, Tobias kills Mr. Todd.

I guess he's a good character, but that's all based on perspective.
