[Opinions] Dellor
Met a woman with this name. It's pronounced just like Delores, but without the -es. Her full name is Dellor, it is not Delores.

That's unusual. I can't say I like it. Dellor makes me picture the Delorean, the Back to the Future car.

That's... odd.I don't really even know what to think. Just... hmm.

Hmmm. Considering Dolores is from the same root as the word "dolor" (= sadness), I wonder at this one. I know the first syllable is pronounced with a different vowel as "dolor" and the stress is on a different syllable. But as a namenerd I can't get past the "sadness" of it. I still have that problem with Tristan ("triste" = sadness in French) even though I know the root for the name is probably something very different. A little bit of knowledge is a bad thing sometimes.Besdies, that double "L" just looks so wrong in Dellor.
