[Opinions] Manx names and their usage
in reply to a message by Sofia
Man is tiny! It doesn't have very many births. But I found this for 2009:
http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/find_out_most_popular_manx_baby_names_of_2009_1_1744715
and this for 2007:

Sadly, no Manx names in there. There is a list of 'Manx names' on the IoM's government website, but many of those are problematic, etymology-wise, as you'll see if you look at it:
http://gov.im/mnh/heritage/library/publicinfo/manxNames.xml
From what I could find out, the only ones that ever seem to have been used much are Moirrey / Voirrey, Breeshey and Finlo. And of those, only Finlo showed up in last year's stats, with 3 uses.

Thank you:-)
I knew you'd have the answer :-)
I actually saw a BA for Breeshey recently, but have no idea where she was born.
