[Opinions] Fay/Faye/Fae
I've never been into short names. I've always hated Fay/Faye/Fae. Until the last two months or so when someone said the name. When I heard it, it felt like I was waking up. Like, "ooh, that's pretty" even though I had spent years admonishing it as a minimalist old lady name. But I'm liking it now. Odd how taste changes like that, huh? What do you think of Fay/Faye/Fae. Feel free to bash it to smithereens if you feel the desire! I love all opinions. If you do like the name, which spelling do you like best? I think I prefer Fay because Faye seems too much--the ye just seems like overkill. Fae is too fairy-like for me.

I like the name, and prefer the Faye spelling.

I like it spelled Fay. Fae is fine. Faye always looked odd to me. I know a Faye who is over 60 and a Faye who would be around 10 years old. I also know a 7 year old Fae. I think it's pretty, it makes me think of fairies. A very feminine name. I think it has a very soft, appealing sound.

I like Fae best because it has the fairy association which just seems magical. I also like Fey for the same reason, but not as much.Fay is nice, Faye is my least favourite spelling

I know a Tessa Fay. She and her sister Chloe were named, in part, after their identical twin aunts, Chloe and Fay. I like it on her, and I like the combo.Once I met a Faye who was middle-aged, bossy and stout. Unfortunate! And I've never known a Fae, but I dislike Mae and Rae, so the vibes aren't good

I totally understand that. I never liked Fay until I realized how it sounded aloud.
I like Fae best because it's the most fairy-like :P but I also like Fay. I don't like Faye. The 'ye' does seem like overkill; and it's also more old-ladyish that way (like Lynne as opposed to Lin / Lyn / Lynn).

Hahaha, I love the connection of Fae to Fairy but I usually think of Fae as a race. And good example with Lynne/Lin/Lyn/Lynn. I agree.
