[Opinions] Courtesy
My cousin in England sent me a link to a news article, because the woman in the article is called Courtesy, and she knew it would interest me.I don't know if it's her birth name or not. I've had a quick look on Ancestry.co.uk (I use the site regularly to do further work on my English family tree) and her marriage record comes up with the first name Courtesy. There is no birth record. The two possibilities for this are (a) she wasn't born in the UK or (b) it wasn't her birth name. She is 35 so was either born in 1975 (if she was born in December) or 1976. The only female birth record with the same surname (Orchis) I can find for either of those two years is a Georgina. I have no idea if it's the same person. So any thoughts on Courtesy?NB: Here's the article. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/woman/3968236/I-know-45k-is-a-lot-to-spend-on-a-six-year-old-but-Nancy-is-going-to-be-a-celebrity.htmlOh and the little girl's full name (as it came up when I was searching for her mom) is Nancy Boo.

She apparently has the mn of Boo in honor of her mothers cat. I'm not fond of the name Boo.Nancy is a bit boring and dated feeling imo. Just like Janet, Nancy is a nice enough name but I'm not fond of it.I like Courtesy but it is nms just like Patience, Hope, Serendipity, etc are nms.

The best I can say is that I totally love Nancy.Courtesy, said in a hurry, sounds much too close to curtsy for comfort, and sounds as if the lady is yearning to be presented at Court! And as for Boo as a mn, the least said the better. Makes her sound like a cousin to Casper and Spooky.

What a bizarre article all around! The mom being named Courtesy is just like the icing on the wacky cake....Courtesy is in theory a pretty name. I like it more than Courtney which it reminds me of a lot. It seems rather modern-Puritan in a way, which I do enjoy.
