Ok, I met a Rosalia today and she pronounces her name as rose-ALE-ya. I always said rosa-lee-ah.
I think rose-ALE-ya is a valid pronunciation?
The more I'm repeating it in my mind, the more that I am really liking it. It reminds me a bit of Azalea actually.

There is a town in Washington called Rosalia and it's pronounced rose-ALE-ya.

I think that rose-ah-LEE-ah and rose-AH-lee-ah are both legit, but I'm not sure about rose-AY-lee-ah. Either way, the third pronunciation is really ugly sounding to me.

I've always pronounced it "ro-ZAHYL-ya," to nearly rhyme with Azalea. The one thing that bothers me is that it can also be pronounced "ro-za-LEE-yuh," which I don't like as much.

It's funny because from reading on here, I thought that "ro-za-LEE-yuh," was the more common pronunciation ecause I had never met one. I definitely prefer "ro-ZAHYL-ya," though, especially after getting used to it!

This was my great grandmother's name, and I'm seeing it more and more lately, mostly on the boards.

When I first encountered this name many years ago, I instinctually pronounced it like that. Interesting!

I prefer rose-ALE-ya and rose-ALL-ya, but ro-za-LEE-a is pretty as well. Most of the people I've encountered with this name have pronounced it rose-ALL-ya/ro-ZAHL-ya.

I've only heard rosa-LEE-a, and that's the pronunciation I prefer. Rose-AYL-ya reminds me too much of the skin condition rosacea.

rose-ALE-ya is strange. I wouldn't say rosa-LEE-ah either though. I say roh-ZAHL-yuh, I suppose it's closer to the first one.
It sounds OK, but I think people would assume it's pronounced my way or your way, so you might have to correct people a lot.

Yes, maybe I'm it's due to me being a poor phonetic speller, because what she said was closer to what you wrote. Maybe somewhere in between..??
