Help[Opinions] Arthur
I'm really loving the name Arthur at the moment. I know some people will think it's old fashioned, but it's getting more popular here in the UK (it's in the top 100 now).
Also my great-great-Grandfather was named Arthur. He was a soldier and the only person ever to be awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal & Bar, for gallantry/ bravery in the First World War, so I think he is a really interesting and worthy person to be named after. His medals are on display at the National Maritime Museum

How about the combos Arthur James or Arthur George?

I have always liked Arthur. My two grandfathers were named Arthur and Harold, which would be a fantastic sib set (except Harold is somewhat of a bad luck name in my family at this point.)
Recently I heard Arthur said with a southern drawl and decided unequivically, that if I move down south and have another child his is so going to be Arthur...PERIOD!
If I were to use Arthur I would pair it with something that has a lot of pizzazz. Like Arthur Benedict or Arthur Ignatius. He's kind of stiff and needs something to jazz him up for casual Friday...if you know what I mean. If I had to choose one of yours it would definitely be Arthur George.

Arthur is one of my absolute favorites, and it sounds like have you have a fantastic reason to use it. I think that Arthur is currently in the process of shedding its old-fashioned image and is going to become slightly more popular in the future. I've seen it referenced as a "hipster" name a few times recently.

Aw, that's a fantastic story. How lovely to have someone so brave in the family! And I love Arthur, it's on my list too - in fact my combo would also be Arthur George, as my grandfather was an Arthur, and my favourite great-uncle was a George.
Arthur James is nice too. I've also thought about Arthur Charles, Arthur Rupert and Arthur Henry - but it's a great name, and goes with pretty much anything.

Thanks, I think Arthur Charles is great. I love the name Rupert, but I'm not sure it goes with Arthur...

I like Arthur and it is getting more popular, but I don't love it. I think the nn Artie puts me off, but then I know an Arthur nn Archie (he's 1) and I love Archie but still don't love Arthur.

My great-grandad was Reginald, and my great-great-Grandad was Arthur. It's strange, because I still consider Reginald to be old fashioned but Arthur is not to me!
I also dislike Artie. It doesn't make sense, because Arthur has the soft "th" in it, not a hard T like in "art". Archie doesn't really make sense either, but I definitely prefer it.
My Arthur would just be Arthur, no nickname.

I see Reginald as less old fashioned lol probably because of the nn Reggie and that makes me think of Reggie Yates
