[Opinions] Re: Idillia
in reply to a message by Fiammetta
Hmmm, I like it in theory. Well, I like Idilia. In theory. Idillia ist just one too many L - and thus one too many vertical line - for me. Um, at least I assume that Idillia and Idilia are variants of the same name, right?
It's too "frilly" and too "girly" for my current taste, for real life use for me.
But thanks to Idilia Dubb and the legend surrounding her and her death, to me, this name will always have a certain air of tragedy and "eeriness" to it. Maybe that's why it always makes me think of heroines in Victorian novels...
I suppose it's in the same vein as Lenore for me.
(By the way, if it's really derived from "idyl"... how ironic.)
(My apologies for my lousy English, it's been a long day....)

wow, I had not heard of the story of Idilia Dubb before. Now the name is really interesting to me! Thanks for sharing. I agree that removing an L really helps to streamline it.
