[Opinions] Esyllt
I just saw a solicitor on the news called Esyllt. She looked to be in her early/mid-thirties, but I'm not great at estimating age!Esyllt sounds so pretty, but looks really strange to me, so I still prefer Isolde. What do you think of Esyllt, Isolde or other versions?

That's funny, because I think Esyllt looks pretty but sounds strange. Incidentally, there is a poster here named Esyllt. I dunno if that's her real name or not though.

Question on pronounciationOf Isolde, Isolda, Iseult, Ysolda, Yseult, Esyllt, Eseld, and any other variants (besides Isotta and stuff obviously)
Are they pronounced the same? I've been saying eess-ULD for Isolde, but with a weird thing on the ULD where my tongue sort of flicks off the roof of my mouth. No idea what that's called. I say eess-ULT for Iseult and ess-ELD for Eseld. Are these accurate?

If you click on Isolde and Iseult, the pronunciations in English and German are listed. Yseult is the same as Iseult, Eseld is ES-eld, and Esyllt is... hard to type. So here: http://www.forvo.com/word/esyllt/#cy :)

Thanks for the link. Now I know I really dislike the name.

I love Esyllt, but the extreme likelihood of mispronunciation outside Wales would stop me from actually using it on a child.
Isolde and Isolda look lovely, but I can't get round the fact that however I say them, they sound like 'is old' & 'is older'. Or 'is sold' and 'is solder'. Or possibly Isildur :)
Eseld could grow on me.

Ha, Isildur. [/nerdiness]

Neat sighting! I prefer Esyllt to Isolde. I like the sound better too. But my favorite form of that name is Eseld.

I second Eseld. Esyllt is just too complicated to spell in my opinion. I do like how it sounds though.
