I'd pick Paige. I like it, and I don't like Rain.
Paige is definitely more common, though it's no Isabella or Jacob. It's right at the bottom of the top 100 while the most common spelling of Rain is only in the upper 800s.
Paige gives me a nicer image. I like rain (the weather) well enough. I'm sick in bed with strep right now listening to rain patter against the window; it's cozy. That said, I still find it dreary, washed out, and sort of limp. It's something I can only take in small doses before I start praying for sunshine. One reason I've always liked Paige is that I've always felt sounds brisk, bright, strong, and high-energy. I'd much rather be a Paige than a Rain.
