[Opinions] Kyle (on a girl)
I've been really in love with this for a girl lately. I like a few other "boy's names on girls" but this one somehow seems much more adult - I can picture a middle-aged Kyle easier than I can picture a middle-aged Devin, for instance. So WDYT? Any combo ideas? I've got Kyle Esmerine and Kyle Araminta in mind currently - I like the sounds but they almost sound disjointed

I don't really like Kyle that much, but I think it's more suited to a boy. The sound of it just sounds masculine to me. Honestly, I just can't see the appeal of it on a girl.

I wrote a big long response and it got eaten. Puh! Basically it said, I get you. I could see a really edgy woman wearing the name Kyle. It's got a new-wave-feminist unisex 80's feel to it, like Wall Street's Darian as played by Daryl Hannah. I think of sharp shoulderpads and undercut hairstyles and chunky gold jewelery. Also lately I've decided the idea of a girl Christopher would be amazing (It's like Christina + Jennifer!). I'm not very good at comboing girl Kyle though. I thought of Kyle Sandrine and Kyle Kristina. Kyle Hannah?

I totally agree with your take on how it's dated 1980s style. Shoulderpads - lol!I think it's okay for a girl, and yeah, it grows up okay, but it's nmsaa.

Kyle Sandrine and Kyle Hannah are both great, thank you! Funny you mention Sandrine actually because I just added it to my PNL last night! Hannah is not a name that's normally on my radar but I do actually like it here. Daryl was lucky to have such a nice LN, imo :)

Maybe you should follow a tip I've learnedWhenever you make a long post, before you hit any "preview", "post message", etc. buttons copy your text (and paste it somewhere else temporarily) in case something goes wrong.

I do this a lot too. Usually just copying it is enough (as long as I don't try to copy anything else in between!)

I think it's better on a girl than on a boy. And I like it way better than Kylie and Kyla. I don't like it much overall, though. On a boy I think it's almost ridiculous. And yeah I know it is a boys name but it is sooooooooooooo soft.

If you're stuck on that, try Kylie. It's a legit girl name, sadly. Don't use Kyle.

No I don't like Kylie at all. And Kyle has a longer history of use on girls than Kylie does. Kyle showed up on the girls side all the way back in 1950, and even charted in the 500s in '51. Kylie didn't come on to the scene until 1978

Maybe she doesn't like Kylie? It's a legit name and personally I think it's better on a girl.
