Nika is an ok name but I'm not wild about it. I think it makes a very cute name for a pet though. I dislike the way Nneka looks. How about Nyssa or Nissa (with the pronunciation NEE-sa)? Nisa would probably be mispronounced less often. Nissa / Nyssa / Nisa sounds softer to me than Nika.
