[Surname] Russian Surname- Clement or Kliment or Klementowski?
Hello everyone,
I have a problem. I can't even begin my research on my family surname of Clement which my Russian grandfather told me was originally spelled with a "K" and could have been spelled somewhat differently. He just never had the original spelling and it's been so frustrating for me because I can't do anything without the Russian actual name. Where can I find the sources for this type of info?
My great grandparents did come to this country so I wonder what they may have had for documentation. Can anyone think of what I should be looking for that would contain the original spelling please?
Thanks so much!

The Russian spelling of Clement is Климент. Klementowski is Polish.
Klement and Klementowski are both Polish surnames, Klimentov and Klimentiev Russian.
