I find Laura beautiful, strong, earthy, sweet, smart...I love it. I wish I didn't already have cousins named Laura and Lori. Laura would be near the top of my list otherwise.
I've known multiple Lauras ranging from little old ladies to teenagers. I don't find it dated; Laura is a classic name currently experiencing a downturn in popularity, similar to Margaret, Peter, or Philip. I'm sure it will make a comeback. Even now, a little Laura would be a breath of fresh air after decades of meeting little Laurens.
