[Opinions] Ivor
WDYT? I actually liked this name when I was a kid, and have basically forgotten about it since then until I just started reading a book with a character named Ivor (in this case, he's Welsh, although it has a wide usage). I think it's very handsome and has something calm and hard-working and farmery about it.I came up with a bunch of combos. Like any?
Ivor Abraham
Ivor Bernard
Ivor Bryn
Ivor Delwyn
Ivor Emrys - probably my favorite
Ivor Finnegan
Ivor Francis
Ivor Graham
Ivor Ingram
Ivor Julian
Ivor Patrick
Ivor Paul
Ivor Thomas
Ivor WarrenI'm open to other ideas too if you have them.

yes pleaseI like it, more for the imagery it evokes than the appearance or sound of the name itself. It make me think of crystal clear water; something about the sound also makes me think of something pure and untainted.

I like it. A tiny part of my brain worries about it seeming hickish in some situations and I dunno... it's definitely not a name everyone can pull off. Ivar and Iomhar are nice too, but more polished. I think Ivar looks better, but Ivor isn't lagging too far behind.Ivor Bernard is amazing.

I've been mulling Ivan over recently, but Ivor is even better, I think. I'm pronouncing with a long "i", not sure if you are. Ivor Emrys, Ivor Patrick and Ivor Thomas are my favorites from your list. Maybe Ivor Anthony, Ivor Kenneth? I seem to want some soft sounds next to Ivor. I'll have to let this one simmer.

I go between long I at the beginning and long E at the beginning. Not sure which I prefer, I guess it would depend on the combo/context.

I don't get "farmer" from it at all, but I think it's a very good name. I say it EYE-vor. I can totally picture it as a baby/kid name here and now.Of those combos I think I like Ivor Delwyn and Ivor Ingram.
