[Opinions] Navy
Saw this on a baby girl recently, her full name was Navy Isabella Jane. It's totally not my style, but I actually quite like it, maybe because it sounds close to Evie or Niamh (prn. NEEV) I wouldn't use it personally but it's cool for someone else! What do you think of Navy? Have you ever met any?

I like Navy, but on a boyIt's a more sophisticated version of Blue :)

Wouldn't do it personally. Seems odd as a name.

Evie & Niamh = names
Navy = a fleet of battleships and their personnel.
These things are not alike at all!

I could get into Neva ("NEE-vuh") Isabella Jane after the Russian river. But never Navy.I'd name a dd Niamh tomorrow I love it so. So seeing it downgraded to a Navy-sound-alike wounds my heart.

I don't have any trouble thinking of it as a color name, but I can't say I really like it on its own merit. I do have to admit that Navy Isabella Jane flows quite nicely and that Navy somehow manages not to feel entirely out of place.

I'm turned off by it, probably because I think more of the fleet being in than of the color. I sort of wish I liked it because I love blue, but I can't find a blue-tinged color name that really moves me.

If I think of it as a word name, it sounds silly. The sound itself isn't unpleasant, and I could almost see it as a colour name, but... no.I don't like the combo - I'd rather see something a bit spunkier with an out-there name like Navy.

Hmmm...My instinct is to hate it, but I don't. It has a pleasant sound, and it's not as 'out there' as some other names I've heard. I give it a pass. No, I have never met one.

I like the color, but I don't think that it works well as a name even though it sounds similar to Davy, Evie, and other well-known first names. It's almost like naming a child Army.

I think it's silly, like naming a child Army or Airforce. There's a series of books called I think, the Dirty Girls, and one character, a loud, overweight Hispanic woman, is named Usnavys. I can't remember exactly how she got that name, something about her father seeing it on his Navy duffel bag or something.

I don't really like it because it makes me think of the military branch.

While I automatically think of navy blue or the branch of the military, I do like it in this combo. At least if she doesn't want to go by Navy she has Isabella and Jane to fall back on. Navy Isabella Jane is kind of fresh and interesting... see, one moment I like it, and the next I don't. It's complex, haha.
