[Opinions] Katharine
Just wondering, do you think this spelling is usable? With Katherine and Catherine it's easy because you simply say 'Katherine with a K' but Katharine is a bit more complicated. Opinions?

I have met Cathryn, Kathryn, Cathrine, Kathrin... the point is, yes, you can use it. There are so many spellings of this name that you are probably going to have to end up spelling it out, anyway. Katharine is lovely.

Katharine has always been my favorite spelling.I think it might be somewhat difficult, as most people do spell the name Katherine / Catherine. But I love it with an A - Catharine / Katharine.

What's complicated about Katharine Hepburn? Traditionally, people thought of Catherine as the French version of the Greek Katharine. Then the -e- spelling rather took over. But I far prefer the K-a to all other spellings.

While it is acceptable, I don't particularly like this spelling at all... While the name feels boring to me due to overuse, it is acceptable and my preferred spellings are Catherine, Kathryn and Katherine. Changing the e to an a or just omitting it completely w/ the ine spellings somehow just doesn't look right. Kathryn is at least different enough as a whole that the omitted e is expected. Cathryn would look awkward to me though, for some reason... prob'ly the same way Cate looks awkward to me.

I don't see it being unusable, but I prefer Katherine.

Katharine is usable. Just say Katharine with an a or Katharine spelled like Katharine Hepburn. I prefer Katherine, however, Katharine isn't bad at all. It works for Katharine McPhee (former American Idol contestant and "Smash" co-star). I don't think the spelling is too out there.

I think it's totally usable. I slightly prefer Katherine, but Katharine is second on my list.
