[Facts] Re: MASHIRO
in reply to a message by gunblade007
Hi Joe! "Shiro" indeed means white in Japanese. After doing some research, I discovered that "ma" can mean "pure" if using certain kanji. "Shi" can also mean "baby," but I couldn't find anything for "ma" and "ro."
As it is a Japanese name, there are plenty of kanji combinations that could give you this name, not just "pure white."

As the previous poster mentioned, there are many possible meanings for Mashiro. Remember that Japanese parents are free to pronounce the characters of a name any way they want, even if it doesn't "make sense" according to the normal pronunciations.
These are the kanji spellings I found for Mashiro:
愛白 "love, white"
純白 "pure, white"
真志路 "truth, intention, road"
真詩呂 "truth, poem, spine [used phonetically]"
真城 "truth, castle"
真代 "truth, generation"
真白 "truth, white"
雪 "snow"
雪白 "snow, white"
白 "white"
舞白 "dance, white"
磨白"polish, white"
麻汐 "flax, tide"
麻白 "flax, white"
万城 "10,000 castle"
万白 "10,000 white"
優白 "elegant, white"
麗白 "beauty, white"
茉城 "jasmine, castle"
茉代 "jasmine, generation"
茉白 "jasmine, white"
There are none that remotely mean "broad-minded" so I think that is probably an erroneous interpretation
