I like the way Jennifer sounds. I prefer it to Jen and Jenny. I like Jenny, but Jen strikes me as very bland.
I think of Jennifer as a 70s and 80s name. I'm pretty sure that I have met Jennifers who were born in the 90s, but I can't think of any off of the top of my head. I was born in the 80s and interacted with more people who were also born in the 80s.
I once encountered a baby named Jennifer perhaps 10 years ago. I don't know if she was called by a nickname, but her mom introduced her as Jennifer.
There are so many people named Jennifer who are around my age that I wouldn't use it myself, but if it were less popular, it might be on my list. I think it would make a great middle name.
