[Opinions] Jaden on a girl?
Okay, so I'm really liking Jaden for a girl, on a boy Jayden/Jaden has became completely overused and trendy, but on a girl I find it quite fresh, different and altogether a nice name. However not a fan of Jaiden/Jadyn/Jaidyn (any of the creative spellings) so wdyt? any middle name suggestions?Edit: Just to edit here, I assume most of the users on this board are American, and seem to say that Jaden is trendy on girls over there. I'm from Ireland, and American(ish) names such as Brayden/Cayden/Jayden have only found their way over here in very recent years, Jayden especially seems to have caught on, but haven't heard one girl being given that name so could you give your opinions from that point of view, thanks :)

I'm not a fan. It's too trendy. Just go with Jade, which is trendy as well, but I can appreciate it more given that it's a nature name and not a "made-up" trendy coinage. I'm not really a fan of Jada, but I also find it preferable to Jaden for a girl even though it's a trendy "made-up" name like Jaden.

I'm not crazy on Jaden for either gender, but it's not particularly male-sounding, so I don't mind on a girl.

Sorry. I only like it spelled Jadon and only on a boy. That said, w/ the e, it does look a little more girly.

Jaden is overused and trendy, so the name itself is not fresh or different, even if it's used on a girl. Jaden is actually a creative spelling of Jadon (which I must admit is a guilty pleasure of mine - for a boy).
I'm from Australia, so I can't comment on what it's like in the US or Ireland. But here Jaden (and all it's variants) is popular and boring too.
I would use very feminine middle names like Elizabeth, Pearl, Rosemary etc.

The only Jaden I Know is a girl and she is 16 so she was born before these kinds of names took off. So since I grew up knowing a Jaden that was a girl and still haven't met a boy with the name even though it's the number 4 name I'm fine with it on a girl which I normally would hate having a boy name on a girl.

I have a friend who named her daughter Jaiden. I think that spelling looks a bit more feminine.I think it's fine for a boy OR a girl. It's not such a bad name, IMO, and it could be unisex. Go for it.

I don't like it on either gender. And it's also overused and trendy on a girl. Something classic and feminine: Jaden Anna, Jaden Emily, Jaden Margaret.

No, it's not fresh.
It's a stupid name on a girl. Stick with Jade or Jada instead.

Agreed. Jade and Jada are great on a girl.

I see it as masculine, and cringe at it on a girl (and I don't particularly like it either way).I don't think it's fresh on a girl, either. Jaden was up in the 200s for girls in the US around 2005, and it's been falling away since; Jayden is still up in the 200s for girls in the US. There are hundreds of female Jadens out there already.

The only thing trendier than "AY-den" names on boys (Aidan, Brayden, Hayden, Jadon, etc.) is masculine names on girls. Sorry. This is a pet peeve of mine. I do like a few so I won't say never. But this just isn't one name I'm willing to "re-gender."
