I far prefer Elinor, but don't mind Eleanor. I also prefer Eleonore to Eleanor (I know they're pronounced differently). Elinor is in my top 5.
I really admire the character Elinor Dashwood, and have often turned my thoughts to her in situations where my romantic feelings could have led me to embarrass myself had I not used Elinor-style restraint and preserved myself from said embarrassment. "Elinor would not approve," has become a motto for me. For this, I honor her, and I love the name.
