Llyr is lovely and this is the spelling I prefer. In fact, I only like it spelt that why. Lir is okay but looks odd and incomplete. I really don't like Lear. As a middle name it would be okay but I wouldn't think of Lear as a variant of Llyr. They are two completely different names in my opinion.
