I don't see a problem with it. I don't get how some horror movie ruins a name. I mean, we still use Frederick despite it being the name of Frederick "Freddy" Krueger. It's not like the kid in the movie was a real person. As for the connection to Satan: I've read my Bible plenty of times, and the name Damian is not mentioned at all.
BTW, judging by the popularity charts, it seems to be quite popular now.

Well, I think Frederick/Freddy is more common than Damian, so it's not as tied to pop culture as Damian is. If a kid were named Krueger, it might be a different story.
