Help[Opinions] Linnea or Helena ?
Wondering about Linnea, worrying that it is too 'out there' as I have never met anybody who is a Linnea or even who knows a Linnea.
The other name which is similar in feel to Linnea is Helena. I am drawn to both.
I haven't decided which pronunciation for either because there are a couple ways to pronounce both.
Drawn to Linn-AY-ah
and Helena as in Bonham-Carter.
I know, I'm being a pain in the backside!
(edit) agree with feedback and would use Linnea Katherine instead of Linnea Kate.

I like both.
I don't think Linnea is "out there" - it's pretty easy to spell and stuff, and it's not made up or really long and complicated. I think it's pretty.
Helena is really nice, but I think it would bother me that there are two common pronounciations. It would be annoying to have to say "it's HE-leh-nuh, not he-LAY-nuh"

I know plenty of Linnea's but I live in Sweden so...
But between Linnea and Helena, I'd choose Linnea. Linnea Katherine is beautiful!

I love Linnea. I've never met anyone with this name, but it sounds similar enough to more popular names out there, such as Lynn and Renee, that is doesn't seem that odd.
I like Kate, but I would use a different middle name with Linnea (Linn-AY-ah) because Linnea Kate has too many "ay" sounds.
Helena is gorgeous. My favorite pronunciation is HEL-ən-ə (like Helen with an "a" at the end).

I babysat for a Linnea. She'd be almost 40 by now. (wow) I've always thought her name is light and airy, beautiful and refined. She uses the three syllable, "linn-AY-ah" pronunciation. The two syllable, "lin-AY" always sounds so cheap to my ears.
Sylvie Linnea is a stock combo of mine. Linnea is easier for me to work into a combination as the mn, but it's gorgeous as a fn as well. Linnea Catherine, Linnea Fleur, Linnea Britt (her little sister's name), Linnea Sophie, linnea Charltote, Linnea Caroline, Linnea Celeste?
Ms Bonham-Carter's pronunciation of Helena is my favorite as well. Two for two. :-) Helena (any pronunciation) is gaining popularity. So if that bothers you I'd go with Linnea.
ETA: Silly me. I just noticed the combination "Linnea Kate" in your subject line. Kate is alright with Linnea, but I'm not crazy about the repeated long "a" sounds. And you always have to be careful with Kate because she can end up making a combination sound more like a verb: to linneacate -- to medicate with linseed oil? Linnea Katharine would be better here.
