[Opinions] Opinions on Leonardo?
Dh isn't keen, but I've seen many names grown on him. Do you like it? I love Leo, but Dh doesn't like it as a name on it's own. Thanks. :)

I love Leonardo! It's quite popular here and I know several children named Leonardo (Leon and Leo are also popular). I'm not a huge fan of Leo, but I don't mind it as a nickname.

I think Leonardo is nice, but I personally prefer just Leo or Leopold. I also like Leon.

I like it.One of our neighbors recently had a baby and named him Leonardo. She's from Eastern Europe, not sure of the exact country.

I think Leonardo nn Leo is a good compromise. Both Leo and Leonardo are nice names.

I think with the right surname, Leonardo is cool. It comes off in a positive way that Leonard does not, imo. Of course, I prefer Leo. Would your dh feel better if he knew Leo was a complete name in its own right and that as part of a longer name (Leonardo, Leopold), it's merely an element of that name rather than a nn? No matter, Leonardo or Leo would complement the names of your other children.

I love Leo. And while I prefer Leonidas and Leopold, I think Leonardo is perfectly acceptable. Especially with Italian or Hispanic background. I also like Leo as a nickname for Leonard and Leander.

I like Leo, but I don't like Leonardo. It sounds very Italian; I would find it strange on someone who wasn't Italian. What about other Leo- names like Leonard or Leonid? Otherwise, I think Leo works fine as a full name, it doesn't have to be a nickname.
p.s. Also it makes me think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (!).

Our heritage is Hispanic, so Leonardo works for us too. I love Leo on it's own, Dh doesn't, so Leonardo would be a compromise I suppose. :)

I like it, but Leo is better on its own.Leo isn't a nickname, it's a name on its own. Saying Leo is a nickname is like saying Ana is a nickname for Anastasia.

I know Leo is a name on it's own. Dh just doesn't like it on it's own, so I though of Leonardo. :)
