[Opinions] Cassiopeia
I've had the name Cassiopeia on my mind recently. What do you think of it? How would you pronounce it?

I really like it, classic and still evokes and sense of magic. I say it KASS-see-oh-PEI-ah.
Cassiopeia Faye would be lovely.

I think it's beautiful! I wouldn't use it in real life, though, it's just a bit too "out-there" for me. I like Cassie as a nickname.I say cass-ee-OH-pee-uh

I love it!
I say cass-ee-o-PEE-a, although I think I used to say cass-ee-O-pee-a.
I'd definitely use it as a mn, and I'd love to meet someone with this as a fn.

I pronounce it ka-see-ə-PEE-ə. I like over-the-top Greek names. I probably wouldn't use it myself but I would be very impressed if a met a child named Cassiopeia.

The first time I heard Cassiopeia was in the 1981 "Clash of the Titans", and then it was pronounced CASS-ee-o-PAY-uh. I've pronounced it that way ever since. As far as "Cass" names are concerned, I actually prefer this as a first name to Cassandra, though the latter is far more common.

I've always heard the -PEE-uh pronunciation, but I like the -PAY-uh version. My only association is with the constellation and a manner of punishment, she having been placed in the heavens upside down, due to her vanity.

Cassio-PAY-ya.When I was a kid I assumed (or was told by another kid) it was Cassie-Opee-ya. Ugh.
There ought to be no PEE in Cassiopeia, as far as I'm concerned. It's decent, a little flakey, but not in a way that makes it unusable.

Cassiopeia is wonderful. So much rich imagery that comes with it. I say, "cass-ee-uh-PEE-uh / cass-ee-o-PEE-uh," but I've also heard "cass-ee-uh-PAY-uh / cass-ee-o-PAY-uh" as well. (I'm in the U.S. if that matters.)The trickier part is what to combine it with. Do you look for a short name that doesn't try to vie for attention with showy Cassiopeia? Do you go for something conventional to balance out Cassiopeia's exotic vibe, or something exotic to match it? Is a puzzle.
