One of my grandmother's mn was Aldorah so it doesn't sound that weird to me.

Nice!Reminds me of two other names that I loved at first sight; Anitra and Alinta.

My very first reaction was to think of the word, "caldera", and then of water being tipped out of a lake into the forest, as happened at Yellowstone when the underground magma pool bulged up one end of the lake. I'm guessing it's feminine; second thought was to relate it to alder trees.

Aldera is intriguing. It reminds me of Caldera, which was mentioned here not too long ago as a GP I believe, but it's more toned down and suitable for real life. An Aldera could always go by Allie or Dera.

I like it. It looks cool, simple, uncommon and mature.
Is it AL-der-a or al-DER-a? I can't decide whether it reminds me more of alder trees or the planet Alderaan... :P
