I use CAS-ee-a for the cinnamony spice. And I think of Muhammed Ali as having been CAS-ee-us though I think he was CASH-us.

That said, and with those associations, I've always wanted a female Boxer named Cassia (Casha) Clae. So feminine! And another female Boxer for her to play with would be Sugah Rae.

I'd say Cassie-a. I could also be easily trained to say Cash-a or Cass-ya.
I think KAH-sha is pretty but I think it would sound stuckup and stilted where I live (US), unless the person spoke with a foreign accent. Maybe in the UK that prn would be fine.
I like the name. It's not too odd IMO.

I tend to want to pronounce it as "KAH-shuh", which is what we in the U.S. think of as cinnamon. Actual cinnamon is more rare, expensive and, ironically, considered "less cinnamon-y" by tasters. But that's just where my brain goes when I see Cassia, it hasn't a thing to do with the actual derivation of the name.

I actually prefer the sound pronounced your way, if I think of it as a nickname for Cassiopeia, or even Cassandra, but I wouldn't intuit that intention if I just saw the name on paper; I'd think of it first as cinnamon then correct myself and associate it with Cassius.

I've thought of Cassia (pr. KAH-sha) myself. My only pause is that it sounds like the cereal although it's spelled differently (Kasha). CAS-ee-a reminds me of Casio (the electronics brand). I do think cas-EE-uh would be nice too. Honestly, I don't know which way is best since I've never known or heard of anyone with the name although I would think as the feminine form of Cassius, it would be pronounced with the 'sh' sound. I really like it (not the meaning, though).

For a boy, I also like Cash (as a nick for Cassius). Cass is cool too. It could be used as a nn for that.

I love this name. I swing from wanting to say CAS-ee-a and CA-sha. ATM I'm favouring CA-sha, because CAS-ee-a sounds like Casio the calculator company and it's bothering me at the moment.

I pronounce it the same way you do, and like it. I don't think it's odd at all.
