Too close to Emma and/or Jenna (neither of which I care for)?

I like Emma more than Gemma, but I like Gemma more than Jenna.

Gemma is obviously quite similar to Emma, since it has the name in it. I wouldn't let that put me off though, as Gemma is a very pretty name. It's been a fave of mine for years actually.

I love Gemma (and don't care for Emma or Jenna) ... I don't think it's too close to them. I'd even use Gemma, right now. I actually would.

I love Gemma (but I also like Emma and Jenna).

LOL, I asked a similar question several weeks ago! I've come to the conclusion that yes, Gemma is too similar to Emma and Jenna in my mind. That wouldn't stop me from using it for a pet, though. So cute!

Not sure I get what you are asking by "too close". Of course it's close to Emma and Jenna. It's only one sound off either either of them. Too close to use as sisters, absolutely. Too close to names you don't care for...I think only you can answer that. In any case, I find Gemma really neat. (That said, I'd like Emma if it weren't so popular, and I've always liked Jenna.)

I think Gemma could be mistaken for Emma and/or Jenna sometimes--Emma and Jenna are more familiar, and people don't always pay close attention--but I don't think it would be a daily thing. I don't like Jenna either, and I wouldn't let it scare me away from Gemma. It's a great name. I think it's beautiful.

I haven't suggested it to him yet... I want to make sure I like it first :-)

I can see it getting misheard as Jenna occasionally, but not Emma.
I like Gemma better than Emma, which I despise. But not as much as I like Jenna. I kind of like Jemma better.
