[Opinions] Tennyson
Meant to post about this the other day...I was watching Child of our Time (a yearly TV series following twenty children as they grow up to determine the nature vs nurture debate - the kids are currently five years old) and one of the children on it was named Tennyson. I was curious to see what you thought of it.Personally, I think it sounds cool, especially as I'm not a big fan of surnames as first names, but I doubt I would use it myself.

I'm a fan of the works of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, so I could definitely see myself using this name. I think it's handsome and oozes intellect and sensitivity.

Was it used on a girl or a boy? On the website it says masculine but I've only heard it on girls. I think it's cool too.

BoyI've never heard it on a girl, but I think it could work.

The sound is neat, but the association with the poet makes it completely pretentious. Giving children very notable names of artists, authors, whatever strikes me as being just as ridiculous as giving them ultra-trendy names. A Tennyson is just as tasteless as another Jayden to me.

Um... I like the poet. I don't know if I'd use Tennyson as a fn but it'd make an okay mn, if I was a huge of Lord Tennyson, but I'm not :) lol I'd be more likely to give a kid the mn of Longfellow or Blake or Byron before Tennyson
