I read the short story Eveline for Higher English, and our teacher pronounced it "EHV-lin". I'd have been more inclined to say "EHV-leen" or "EHV-lyne" ... I don't like that it's so ambiguous.Even Evelyn is too ambiguous I feel, what with EHV-lin and EEV-lin, but it's a pretty name. The form I love best is Evelina (EH-veh-LEEN-ah).

I would pronounce it "ev-uh-LEEN." I like it, but I much prefer Evelina.

I'd pronounce it this way as well. That's a pretty name... Eveline. :)

I'd say EH-vuh-lyne. The name is okay, but I wouldn't use it, myself.Array

I like Evelyn (prn: Eva-lyn). Eveline looks like either Eva-LIE-n or Eva-LEEN or the EVE- versions of those - none of which I like."We can even learn from our enemies." -OvidMitakuye Oyasin

I had a friend in highschool named Evelyn, pronounced eva-lynn. I don't really like the name that much, because evil-lynn pops in my head for some reason.
