I like it, I've recently decided. It's my middle name (although it's spelled Elyse), so I've always sort of ignored it. But as a first name I think it feels rather fresh these days. It's very pastel and has a sophisticated feel.
1. Kinda sorta. If possible I would use only the exact name to honor someone, but actually a little while ago when I would've really considered using Elizabeth for a daughter, I thought hey that kinda honors me.

4. I do think it's a little filler-ish as a middle name, but I overlook that if it honors. In my case, it does not, it's total filler.
Melody Elise is alright, nothing spectacular to me.
I know several Elises. I went to high school with an Elise or two, and also went to college with an Elyse. There's also a teenage girl at my church named Alisse, pronounced the same way. And I have a friend with a 1 year old Elise.
