You are definitely not alone. I grew up hearing about friends / distant relatives of my mother's family, Fidelma and Eithne (which they pronounced as "ET-nuh"). I never met them so they're a bit of a mystery to me.
I love both names, especially Fidelma. It reminds me of graceful, soaring Fidelia (faithful) with a sensible-shoes twist to it, the "-ma" ending. Plus, I love the nn Del.
