I love the name Ella but it is getting super popular in my area. I saw this name the other day and thought it was sweet and classy sounding but not popular. So what are your thoughts on Anelle? Does it sound good with Russell? Thank You :)
Also, those you that posted on siblings for Russell I will comment and thank you there were some greats suggestions. Our internet has been down.

Anelle looks like it's missing a letter. Annelle would be better. I'm not sure if I like it or not, though.

Hmmm. Anelle seems more like Janelle missing the J. It's rather annoying, sorry. And I don't think it sounds that well with surname Russell -- they both end in teh same sound. I wish I could be more positive. :-/ I could perhaps see Anella as a nn for something like Antonella -- something with substance. I get that you don't want a name that every other kid on the block has. But I think you're going too far in the other direction: an alphabet soup name.
What you need is a classic that is known, but not overly used. How about:
Elsa, Gemma, Anais / Anouk, Ellen / Elena / Eleni / Elin, Ailsa, Linnea ("li-NAY-uh"), Alannah, Althea, Anthea, Ornella, Allegra, Leandra, Melina, Leonie ("LEE-uh-nee" or "LAY-uh-nee"), Honora / Honor, Stella / Estella, Celeste, Ines, Mireille / Mireia / Mireya, Matea / Mattea, Solene, Soleil, Sinead / Jeanette / Siobhan, Della, Delia, Elva / Elvy, Alva.

OK. So that takes care of any flow issues. Having two siblings ending in the same sound is no big deal. I still don't care for the made-up-ish-ness of Anelle though.

Honestly, I don't like it. It seems like a name just thrown together, and it rhymes with Russell. If you yelled for one, they'd both come running.

Oooh cool. I'm inclined to like it as I like a lot or -elle names (Danelle, Joelle, Noelle, Narelle). Also it looks a bit like Adele, which I love. Yeah, Anelle gets two thumbs up from me. Personally, I'm not into Elle/Ella as nicknames (or full names for that matter), but Ani, Ellie, Nell, or Nellie could be cute as a nickna,e. Nice find.
