It sounds so ugly. Even as just a common noun it sounds ugly. Orch. Cherd.

I can usually advocate all sorts of out-of-the-ordinary names, but I just don't think Orchard works. It's not even a particularly attractive word.

I like it, but only as a GP or maybe a middle name.

Woah, that is totally cool. As a hypothetical name, that is. My brain is currently too sleep-deprived to put the images/thoughts of it I get into words... it involves scarlet tweed... but yeah, I really like it!

lol, the word orchard has always reminded me of an old lady saying "Oh, Richard". But I think orchard would actually be kind of charming. I wouldn't use it, except possibly as a middle name, but it works.

I rather like it. It reminds me so much of Richard, which gives it a more namelike quality.
