[Opinions] Diana
First of all, does it take anyone else a long time to load this site? Just wondering. All the other websites work just fine for me but since last week or so this site takes an incredibly long time to load.
Anyway, what do you think of Diana? I never really liked it, but it has grown on my a lot since I met one. Does it make you think of princess Diana? Not that she is a bad association but for some reason I'd rather people not think automatically of a famous person when they hear my child's name.

I've been having lots of trouble loading the site lately. I thought it was just my computer...it's been getting better though!
I really like Diana. A lot. It's so silvery-blue and lovely. I do think of princess Diana, but I think that's because she was the only famous Diana most people know. I know many people also think of that song "Dirty Diana"... I guess there aren't that many associations for Diana besides those two. But, whatever, I really like it. I'd use it and would be super happy if my partner also thought it was pretty.

I think it's very pretty and I'd be excited if my partner wanted to use it.
Yes, this site is crazy slow compared to any other on the internet for me, I wounder why?
I like Diana, I have never met a young Diana even though it is not too low on the popularity charts. It doesn't really make me think of the princess. I would use it if my husband didn't pronounce it like Dee- Anna.

Yes, it's taking a long time and sometimes won't load at all. I saw on the Lounge that Mike C is working on fixing it.
Anyway, Diana. I love it. It's beautiful in sound and appearance and has the great goddess connection. Princess Diana doesn't really come to mind when I think of it. I remember when she died but I was still a kid, so I don't think she had as much impact on me as someone who was older at the time.

My first encounter with the name Diana was on a doll. There was a doll called Dawn, in the 1970s. She was like a tinier version of Barbie, with tiny clothes. A different doll came out, which was named Diana and wore Dawn-sized clothes. I think I remember this right ... anyway. That is the first image I think of when I think of Diana. Here's a page with images of it http://www.whos-that-doll.com/diana_dolls.html
I like the name because it refers to a goddess and is classical. I think it sounds a little bit cold and stuckup. I don't really care for the DIE sound in it. It does not make me think of Princess. To me she was Princess DIE.
Anyway I give it a 7/10 as a baby name. I wouldn't mind being named Diana.

It's taking forever to load this site for me to! Phew, I thought it was only me who was having the problem.
I prefer the spelling Dianna just because I think it looks fresher and different. It's a name I've considered too but I can't get past Princess Diana - she is a massive association, especially for me because my family are huge royalists and were all big fans of the princess.

I really love it.
& yeah, I've been having the same issues. :/

I love it and wonder why it's so unpopular. I wonder when it'll come back in? I give it ten more years.
Yeah, the site has been slow. Mike C is aware of the problem, and presumably is working to fix it. Just right now it seems to be okay. Knock on wood.
I think Diana is a very pretty name. It's a classic, but has a contemporary feel to it and doesn't really seem dated. I do think of Princess Diana, and I suspect quite a few young Dianas were named with her in mind. Princess Diana wasn't my favorite celebrity, but there's lots and lots of much worse ones to share a name with.

1- I had that problem too, but it seems to be gone now.
2- Diana is a good name that's been around for a long time. I know not everyone wants their child's name to be too closely associated with someone, but Princess Diana was (and still is) well respected and loved by millions of people, so that wouldn't bother me.
