I thought for sure when I clicked this that the name would be something ending in -ayden. How refreshing Gwendolyn Noelle is! How cool that the parents wanted to use that name--it has such a unique sound to it and it has character. Nice! I love the nn Gwen.

I agree-- I wouldn't have thought of Shayla and Gwendolyn as sister names. I like Gwendolyn, though.

I like Gwendolyn Noelle. It's a lot better than Shayla Addison.

I haven't been able to find my areas first BA, but I read one for northern Sweden. It was a boy named Kosmoz (WTF!), who also had a sister named Meya who was the first baby in that area some other year.

In my area, the first baby born in the New Year was called Aiden. Or Aidan. Or Aaden. I heard the news from another room, so I wasn't so sure on the spelling.

I love Gwendolyn. :)

Gwendolyn Noelle is pretty, if a bit twee. It's WORLDS better than our New Year baby, Cankane Joseph. The parents claim that the name means "beautiful spirit", and that God told them to bestow the name on a son. :/
