[Opinions] Wdyto Kurtz
What are your opinions on Kurtz William?? This is the only name me and hubby agree on. But for some reason don't know what to feel about it.

A quick Google search will still remind you that the best known Kurtz is a cannibalistic, heads-on-spears tyrant from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness.
If that's cool with you, go ahead and torture your child. If not, William is much classier and there are a trillion and a half other names out there. Something else has got to be less despicable.

Kurtz reminds me of Heart of Darkness by Conrad. I'm turned off by it. Kurt William would be better.
Kurtz is too surname-y for me. It doesn't sound good.

Kurtz? Yikes. Whether you first think "Heart of Darkness" or "Apocalypse Now," Kurtz is one dark name carrying around some heavy baggage. I can't stop picturing the severed heads on stakes. Or a severed head dropped in a man's lap. Either way, it has a real "exterminate them all" vibe.
I'm sorry, but I can't get behind Kurtz William at all. Kurt William would be great, though.

Cool! Kurtz is neat. I've never heard of it, but I think I like it. And the classic William in the middle is nice.
Kurtz means "short" in German.
I don't really like it, as it doesn't look like a real name. I prefer the suggestions of Kurt or Kurtis. William is nice.

I just get Heart of Darkness vibes: Mistah Kurtz, he dead!
Perhaps dropping the -z and using Kurt would make it more like a first name and less like a ln/literary reference? Kurt William sounds and looks better to me.

Another voice of reason. Thank God.
Well if you agree on it then you must like it a bit right? Personally I prefer just plain Kurt, but I'm sure you have thought of that and don't prefer it. I think it is similar enough to familiar names to not confuse people and it sounds pleasant. If you are pregnant, try referring to the baby as Kurtz for a while and see how you feel about it. If you still don't feel like it's quite right tell your hubby that he needs to help you start over.
