[Opinions] Cassidy?
What do you think of the name Cassidy? For a girl? For a boy? Do you prefer it for one gender or hate/like it equally. I really like the nickname Cass for a boy but am not fond of Cassius, can you suggest any other male names Cass could work as a nickname for is Cassidy suitable.
I'm worried about liking Cassidy for a boy as one of my favourite male names is Sydney, and if I end up with boys Sydney and Cassidy most people will think they are girls!
All opinions welcome please :)

I don't mind it on a girl... would seem a bit odd on a boy at this time... I think for a boy, Sidney would be a pref. spelling to Sydney... Not sure of other Cass names for boys... I honestly wouldn't do that to a boy. (Cass names... though Caiside might be ok)

I actually prefer Cassidy for a boy, but I kind of like it for both genders. However, I acknowledge that the majority of Cassidys are girls, so I'd hesitate to use it for my son. I also like Cass as a nickname for a boy.

I grew up with a female Kassidy, so I thought it was a girl name for the longest time. I didn't know until later that it was originally a boys' name.I think it works for either gender.

I know an 18 year old girl named Cassidy maybe that is why it sounds girlie to me. Sydney seems like a boys name to me though I did know a lady, Sidney. Sydney is a gp. I rather like it. Cassidy, I don't care for at all.

I don't care for Cassidy at all, it's very romance-novel/soap opera to me. But I have to say it is definitely a girls' name all the way.Don't like Cass or Cassie either. They sound bloated and belching, though I have no idea why.

I don't really like Cassidy on either gender, but it's not a horrible name or anything. I'd say it's better to have two boys named CAssidy and Sydney that having a girl with one or the names and a boy with the other. Not sure why, actually, but that seems better to me. :)

Thank you, I dislike both names on girls so they would both be boys - which I agree to be better than one of each :)

I like Cassidy for both genders, but I would assume Cassidy was a girl.
What about Cassian instead? Or Caspian, Casimir, Castor?
