What do you think?
I don't remember where I first heard the name Odette but it wasn't the princess swan because I've never seen it. I like it but I don't like it at the same time.
I first heard Adele in the movie "The Majestic" and I loved it. Unfortunately most people think of the singer, I do like the singer but wouldn't want to use the name and have everyone say "like the singer?"
Can you think of any similar names?

Odette is nice, but I'm not a huge fan of -ette names.
Adele I love. Unfortunately Adele the singer is pretty synonymous with it right now, it's a bit unavoidable. People joke about my cousin Adele all the time, especially after the Grammy's. Either way I love it.
For something similar:
Emilie (or Emily, how Del's sister spells it)

Odette is nice, but I prefer Odille. Odille is darker, which appeals to me.
I think Adele is fine, and I don't think people linking her with the singer is that big a deal. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and she is very talented. Personally, if my name were Adele, I would like the association.
