I wouldn't have given it a second thought if it wasn't for Neville Longbottom. That character made me love the name.

"Neville! Time for your Fig Newtons!"This was a series of Fig Newton commercials I remember, a very proper English nanny could always get Neville into line by offering Fig Newtons.
Neville to me is a humorous stereotyped named for an upper-class English boy or man from a long time ago. It seems pretty silly on a modern person.

I think it's fabulous.
It has that nerdy feeling, but it's charming. Not too popular, but most people have heard it. U guess most would think of Neville Longbottom (so do I) but I don't think that's a bad association at all.

I prefer leaving Neville as a surname.

I really like it too; although I don't like how the only person most people associate with it is the HP character (don't get me wrong -- he's a great character -- but the association is so strong). I like the combo Neville George :)
